Gold price in Syria today, updated live with the world spot price: gram prices for 24K, 21K and 18K in the new Syrian pound and in US dollars, plus the ounce, bullion, the Syrian gold lira and silver. Our prices convert the world spot price at the official gold bulletin rate used in Syria (about 140 new pounds per dollar when this page was built). Important: all pound figures here are in the NEW Syrian pound after the 2026 redenomination — 100 old pounds = 1 new pound — so if other sites show prices in the millions, they are still quoting the old scale.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the gold price in Syria today?
Today’s gold price in Syria is shown in the table at the top of this page, updated live with the world spot price: per-gram prices for 24K, 21K and 18K in new Syrian pounds and US dollars, plus the ounce and kilo. 21K is Syria’s most traded karat — the karat of jewellery and of the Syrian gold lira — so we highlight it. Prices are the raw metal value before any making charges.
Why do other websites show gold in Syria costing millions of pounds?
Because they still quote the OLD Syrian pound. Since the start of 2026, Syria redenominated: 100 old pounds became 1 new pound. A 21K gram at about 16,524 new pounds is the same price as about 1,652,400 old pounds. Every figure on this site is in new pounds, with the dollar value beside it so the scale is never in doubt.
What is the official PMA bulletin and the ‘gold dollar’?
Syria’s General Authority for Precious Metals Management (PMA) publishes an official daily gold bulletin with a buy and a sell price per karat — in a recent bulletin, 21K was sell 16,450 / buy 16,050 new pounds. The bulletin converts world prices at a dedicated ‘gold dollar’ rate (about 140 new pounds when this page was built). Our prices are the world spot mid-price at that same gold-dollar rate, so they sit between the bulletin’s buy and sell figures, and we review the rate weekly against new bulletins.
What is the Syrian gold lira?
The gold lira is Syria’s classic savings coin: 8 grams of 21K gold. Its raw value is simply 8 × the 21K gram price — about 132,194 new pounds (about $944) at the prices when this page was built. Shops may add a small premium when selling and buy it back very close to the official buy price, which is why it remains the country’s favourite way to save in gold.
Which karat is most popular in Syria?
21K, by a wide margin: it is the standard jewellery karat, the karat of the gold lira, and the first karat in the official bulletin. 18K is second (used for modern and stone-set jewellery), and 24K is the pure investment karat used for bullion bars and for the zakat nisab calculation (85 grams of pure gold).
